When we get back in January, we will be diving into the role of slavery in the young United States. A part of that investigation will ask the question: "Is the US Constitution a pro-slavery or anti-slavery document?" This is an ongoing debate, but we'll start with two influential perspectives from the 19th Century. Your only winter break work is to read these two documents:
